Wendy I regularly walk around Las Vegas listening to this and when I have downtime at work have also been reading about The Dead People (Shayne has) Known. He has come such a long way and grown so immensely over his long career. I'm really enjoying this album a lot. It has a a lot of feeling and soul to it. Even the photo on the cover has a homey sort of feel to it. Well done. Favorite track: Just A Moment.

Gavin Hellyer Shayne is a legendary figure in New Zealand music dating back to around the 80s and his groups, which included Dimmer, Straitjacket Fits & The Doublehappys. He played a gig I'm aware of in 2014 with Michael & Robbie from The Dead C, but I just read today that he made this comeback album 2 years ago. And it's fantastic. Strong use of piano and almost classical at times, but building in high drama as the work progresses. Very Peter Hamill. Dunno how I missed it upon release. Magnificent. Favorite track: We Will Rise Again.

Graeme This is an absolutely wonderful album.

Due to the different songwriting and musical approach, It's a slow burner, much like Dimmer's first album was. In fact, It's very much like an analogue hopeful version of I Believe you are a Star

As ever, Shayne's songwriting, voice and lyrics shine through to produce a wonderful sound that is a unique departure from his rich body of work over 30 odd years.

I admit to being very sceptical that this could match up or even get close to Shayne finest output. How could it? It's piano album FFS?!

But it is a wonderful surprise, full of beautiful moments which, at times, show a Shayne Carter at his most vulnerable, melodic, open, naive and, at times, also his best.

A wonderful album that was a long time coming (in the end...)

Thankfully it was worth the wait.

Cheers Shayne!

PS: big ups to Gary - he was huge on this album. He must of loved making it!
